Frequently Asked Questions and Answers
What is Counselling?
Counselling is a collaborative process in which a qualified mental health professional supports individuals in addressing personal, emotional, and psychological challenges. Within a safe, confidential, and supportive environment, the counsellor facilitates exploration of thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. Through this process, clients are guided to develop effective coping skills and strategies that promote personal growth, resilience, and overall well-being.
Do you provide free consultation?
We offer a complimentary 15-minute virtual consultation to discuss your needs and explore how we can support you. Appointments can be conveniently scheduled online. If you do not find a suitable time slot, please feel free to contact Blissful Mind Counselling directly for assistance.
Is counselling confidential?
Counselling services are strictly confidential. As licensed professionals, counsellors adhere to rigorous ethical standards and legal requirements to safeguard client privacy. Client information is not disclosed to any third parties except in specific circumstances, including when there is a risk of harm to the client or others, suspected abuse of a vulnerable individual, or when mandated by a court-issued subpoena. In all other cases, clients' informed consent is required prior to the release of any information.
Is counselling covered by my insurance plan?
We encourage clients to verify their extended health care coverage to determine whether counselling sessions with a registered clinical counsellor are included in their insurance plan. Coverage varies based on the specifics of each individual policy. Blissful Mind Counselling is registered with Telus eClaims; however, we recommend that clients confirm with their insurance provider whether Telus eClaims is accepted and if direct billing for counselling services is permitted. Please note that some insurance companies may not authorize direct billing for certain services. In such cases, we provide detailed receipts that clients can submit to their third-party insurers for reimbursement.
