About Me
I am a Punjabi Sikh Canadian woman who was born in India and came to Canada as a teenager. Adjusting to life in a new country was not always easy. I experienced language barriers, isolation, identity struggles, and the pressure of trying to balance two cultures while meeting family and societal expectations. As the eldest daughter in my family, I was expected to take on many responsibilities and faced limitations simply because I was a girl.
These life experiences helped me understand the unique pressures many individuals, especially women face in our communities. Women often juggle countless responsibilities, including caring for family members, managing households, working full-time, and supporting both children and aging parents, often while neglecting their own well-being.
Today, as a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BCACC and a CVAP-approved counsellor, I bring both professional expertise and lived experience into my work. For over ten years, I have supported individuals and families navigating anxiety, depression, grief, cultural identity issues, trauma, and relationship difficulties.
I believe counselling is a collaborative journey built on trust, understanding, and respect. My approach is holistic and tailored to each individual’s unique experiences, strengths, and goals. I strive to create a safe and supportive space where clients feel heard, empowered, and capable of creating positive and lasting change in their lives.
Approach to Therapy

At Blissful Mind Counselling, our practice is rooted in the belief that every individual has the capacity for growth, healing, and positive change. We are dedicated to promoting individual well-being and providing compassionate, evidence-informed support to adults experiencing mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, and relationship difficulties.
Our approach is integrative and client-centered, drawing on a range of established therapeutic modalities to meet each client’s unique needs. Core methods include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Transformational Therapy, which is grounded in the Satir Model. CBT focuses on helping clients identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and create meaningful behavioural changes.
Transformational Therapy utilizes the Iceberg Model to explore both surface-level symptoms and the deeper emotional experiences, core beliefs, and past influences that contribute to current challenges.
We also incorporate elements of Supportive Therapy and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, which emphasize the therapeutic relationship as a foundation for healing. These approaches provide a safe, empathetic space for clients to explore their emotions, process life experiences, and develop insight. Psychoeducation and mindfulness practices are also integrated to enhance emotional regulation, build resilience, and support clients in applying therapeutic tools outside of sessions.
Treatment plans are collaborative and goal-oriented, with interventions tailored to reflect each client’s personal values, strengths, and therapeutic goals. Ongoing validation, empowerment, and skill-building are central to our work, and when appropriate, homework or reflective exercises may be introduced to reinforce progress between sessions.
